WHAT TO EXPECT

A quick walkthrough of what it's like to start training at 10th Planet Pleasant Grove — so when you step on the mat for the first time, you'll know exactly what to expect.

01 The Walk In

WHEN YOU WALK IN

When you walk in, you'll notice it feels a little different. People are focused, but approachable. There's structure, but it's not rigid.

Everyone is working to get better — at their own pace. You won't be expected to know everything. You'll be guided, coached, and supported as you learn.

02 Your First Weeks

YOUR FIRST WEEKS

At the beginning, it's normal to feel a little out of place. You'll be learning new movements, new positions, and new ways of thinking.

Some days will feel challenging. Some days things will start to click. That's part of the process.

No one expects you to be perfect — just consistent.
03 Showing Up

AS YOU KEEP SHOWING UP

Over time, things begin to slow down. You start to understand what's happening. You become more comfortable in difficult positions. You make better decisions without rushing.

And without realizing it, you begin to change — not just in how you train, but in how you handle pressure, stress, and challenges outside the room.

04 The Community

THE COMMUNITY

This is a growing academy. That means people aren't just passing through — they're building something together.

You'll train with the same people. You'll get to know them. You'll see each other improve over time.

For many, it becomes more than just training. It becomes a place where:

Everyone here is on their own path — but moving in the same direction.
05 The Standard

THE STANDARD

We keep things simple and respectful. Because we train closely, we take care of our hygiene and our gear.

Before every class:

  • Come in clean
  • Wear freshly washed training gear
  • Keep nails trimmed

It's a small thing that makes a big difference for everyone.

06 How We Train

HOW WE TRAIN

Training here is about learning. You don't need to prove anything. You'll be encouraged to:

  • Stay patient
  • Listen to coaching
  • Take care of your training partners
  • Focus on improvement over time

Everyone is working to get better — and helping each other get there.

What you put into this, you get back. Not all at once — but steadily. You'll build confidence, composure, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

And those things carry into the rest of your life.
